Inter - Como: Bookmakers' odds
Inter
Inter defeated Venezia in the Italian Cup with a score of 5:1, setting up a meeting with the winner of the Roma - Torino match. The 5–1 victory was Inter's biggest win in the competition in 40 years, equalling their 6–2 thrashing of Benevento in 2019.
Andy Diouf, Francesco Pio Esposito and Ange-Yoann Bony each scored one goal, while Marcus Thuram scored twice. Interestingly, although Pio Esposito had scored at San Siro for Italy, it was his first goal at the stadium as an Inter player. He also became the first Nerazzurri player to score in four different competitions this season: Serie A, Champions League, Coppa Italia and Club World Cup.
In this match, three academy graduates made their debuts for the Inter first team: Matteo Cocchi, Leonardo Bovo and Matteo Spinacce.
"Apart from the goals, the most important thing was our attitude and our general approach. We have a strong squad with 23-24 high-level players, as well as young talents who are training with us and can give Inter a real boost. As I said before the game, we will work to the limit in every competition and then see where we end up,” said Thuram.
“We are happy for Diouf because his start was not easy, but now he is showing everyone his true quality,” said Bony.
Inter's only blemish in the cup match was the goal conceded by Ricky Sagrado. He had a powerful shot that bounced off Carlos Augusto before entering the net.
“I liked the attitude and the respect the boys showed for their opponents. I am happy with what the players showed, but I knew they would do it because they are motivated and want to build on the solid work of recent months.
Three debutants? I am happy for those who played for the first time at the San Siro, for the under-23 players who I know well. I'm happy for Andy Diouf, who made his first start, played the full 90 minutes and scored. There are many reasons to celebrate," said Chivu.
Como
Como beat Sassuolo 2-0, extending their unbeaten run to an impressive 12 matches.
"In defence we didn't play as we usually do. We lost the ball, we weren't at our best. I told the team about it. Then we stepped up a lot; I saw the team take control of the game. In the second half we could have scored even more; we need to finish the games better.
Inter? We need consistency to compete well. Last season we lost, drew and beat strong teams, but this year we need to improve even more. Inter remain the strongest team in Italy, alongside Napoli. This will be an important match for us to assess our level. And it should give the team the strength to play with a clear head.
We are Como, a small club, but with a big heart and a clear plan. We will grow step by step, and in 6-7 years we will challenge the leading teams.
We have only been working together for two years, which is not long. But we are already ahead of my expectations," said Cesc Fabregas.

Inter - Como: Author's Prediction
Como's only victory over Inter at the San Siro took place in the 1949/50 season under the leadership of former Juventus player Mario Varglien. In the 36th round, Como won with a score of 2:1. Saturday will mark exactly 27,600 days since then. Even more remarkable, after this defeat, the Milanese team won 13 games in a row.
Como currently has 199 defeats in Serie A history and 399 goals conceded.
This should be a thrilling match, with Inter winning by a single goal. I'm betting on a 3-2 scoreline.
