October 3, 2025 22:00. Pamplona. "El Sadar".
La Liga 2025-26. Round 8

Osasuna (Pamplona) Getafe

Disqualification: None

Injured: Aimar Oros – Juanmi

In the national team (U-20): Adrian Liso (Getafe)

Osasuna

The team from Pamplona started the season steadily, but in the sixth round everything took an unfortunate turn. Alessio Lishi made his debut as head coach of "Rojillos" with a narrow defeat in Madrid against "Real". However, just a week later, his new team won their first victory under the Italian, confidently defeating Valencia at home. And don't let the final score of 1-0 fool you. The third match involving Osasuna also ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts, this time against Espanyol. In Barcelona, the team from Pamplona played a little more boldly than two weeks earlier in Madrid, but this did not affect the result in any way.

After resuming the championship after the international break, Alessio Lishi's team celebrated this event with another convincing home victory, overcoming the capital's Rayo Vallecano (2-0). Once again, the Rojillos took the lead early, but, unlike the previous home game, they managed to double their advantage near the end. Then came a tough match against Villarreal, where Osasuna scored their first away goal of the season – and did so while playing ten times. After the break, the Yellow Submarine not only equalised, but also took the lead with a second goal, although a tense finish was inevitable. The Pamplona team had at least two golden opportunities, but on both occasions Villarreal goalkeeper Luis Júnior made stunning saves.

A few days later, Osasuna were within minutes of their third consecutive victory over El Sadar. Everything followed a familiar pattern – the home team took the lead in the 10th minute and generally controlled the game confidently, creating several chances to extend their lead. However, Elche, who had not lost to anyone yet, threw all their strength forward towards the end of the match and equalised in injury time: 1-1. This disrupted the rhythm of points-taking that Alessio Lishi's team had built up. And just a few days later, Pamplona suffered an expected and well-deserved defeat away to Betis, conceding twice without reply.

Getafe

José Bordalas' team faced serious squad problems at the start of the season due to problems registering most of their new players, but that did not stop them from starting the campaign with two consecutive away wins - 2-0 against Celta and 2-1 against Sevilla. One of the two new signings, La Liga debutant Adrian Liso, scored three of Asulonense's four goals. The other, midfielder Mario Martin, on loan from Real Madrid, later scored his first goal. This happened in the first home match of the season, right after the international break, where Getafe comfortably beat Oviedo 2-0. In addition to Martin, Borja Mayoral also scored a goal, and both set-piece assists were provided by Luis Milla, who still remains one of the best assistants in the league.

It is also worth noting that before the international break, the Azulona suffered their first defeat of the season, losing to Valencia at the Mestalla with a score of 0-3. The next away match ended in the same way, 0-3 against Barcelona. Then there were two home matches in a row, but Getafe also failed to win. Both matches - against Alaves and Levante - ended with a score of 1-1. In the first, the opponent statistically surpassed the hosts, but Getafe scored first thanks to last season's top scorer Mauro Arambarri, but the Basques quickly equalized, and that was the end of the goals. Meanwhile, Levante dominated the first half and led minimally at half-time. After the break, the hosts stepped up their game, quickly equalized (thanks to defender Juan Iglesias), and later had a chance to snatch victory, but it did not happen.

Osasuna - Getafe: Expected lineups

In Osasuna, creative force Aimar Oros remains out of the game, but defender Juan Cruz and winger Ruben Garcia are expected to return to the lineup. As for Getafe, striker Juanmi is absent as usual, while young striker Adrian Liso is unavailable due to a call-up to the Spain U-20 national team.

Osasuna vs Getafe: Author's Prediction

Two of the last three meetings at the El Sadar stadium between Osasuna and Getafe have ended in away wins, with Pamplona winning one of them. Overall, the Azulones have proven to be a tough opponent for the Rojillos. Alessio Lishi's team are generally considered the favourites in this upcoming clash, but there are reasonable doubts about the home side's victory. The match is not expected to be high-scoring, although at least two goals have been scored in the last head-to-head meetings. A bet on Osasuna to score in the first half could be a reasonable bet - Pamplona have scored very early in their last three home games at El Sadar. You can also consider options such as the home team leading at half-time, a goal from top scorer Ante Budimir, or even a punt risk with both teams scoring.
